PROJECTS / ACTIVITIES

  • Publication of Books

The Foundation has brought out highly subsidized publications containing rare and valuable teachings of the Jagadgurus of Sringeri particularly those of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatheertha Mahaswamigal. These publications cater to the needs of various people, right from a common man who is interested in knowing his dharma to the advanced spiritual aspirant who is yearning for the ultimate truth. They offer lucid explanations and expositions on Sanatana Dharma, Karma Yoga, Bhakthi Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Kundalini, Meditation, Mental Worship and other topics covering the import of our Sastras. It is not an exaggeration to say that these publications will verily serve as a beacon light to sincere spiritual aspirants.

  • Promotion of Indian Culture & Heritage

To promote our Indian heritage and Vedic culture, the Foundation honours eminent scholars on Tarka, Mimamsa and Vedanta Sastra. Selection of the scholars is done by Jagadguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahawamigal Himself. The scholars are honoured with cash awards, a shawl and a citation.

Meritorious students of Veda, Vedanta and Sanskrit literature are awarded with scholarships. An eminent panel of scholars selects the deserving students.

Our main focus is on the students to learn Indian values and culture which will ultimately help them to become useful citizens of this country. To achieve this, every year we conduct programs such as essay writing competitions, self-development seminars and quiz programs. Nearly two lakh students have benefitted over the years.

The Foundation also sponsors the major expenses of a Veda Patashala located at Sringeri.

  • Conducting of Seminars, Symposium & Lectures

Regular lectures are being held to expound various Vedantic texts mostly on the works of Sri Adi Sankaracharya by eminent Pandits who are also honoured.

  • Social work by helping the economically weak section of society

The Foundation sponsors the entire tuition fees of more than 70 girl students who are economically weak.

The Foundation also engages in Annadhana Seva to the needy during important occasions.

Regular educational programs are conducted at various orphanages and free study materials and other required items are distributed to the inmates. Serving of a special dinner to the children at the orphanages forms part of all such programs.

The Foundation always raises to the occasion and serves the society during the most difficult times. We were fortunate enough to help the people of Chennai during Tsunami and at the time of floods in 2015. We plunged into action during Covid by systematically providing Annadhanam, foodgrains and other provisions to various sections of the society week after week for nearly nine months.

The Vidyatheertha Foundation aims to continuously expand its activities and noble projects and looks forward to the support of devotees and philanthropic friends.

All donations to the Foundation are exempt under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act.
